A musical journey through Colombia’s rich cultural heritage, where each region reveals its identity through its rhythms and musical traditions.

This experience brings together the country’s diversity in a single musical work: it begins in the Andean region with the sounds of the Bambuco and Pasillo; continues to the northern coast with the vibrant energy and color of the Cumbia and Calypso; ventures into the plains to the rhythm of a Pajarillo; and finally returns to the Andean region with the dynamism of the Torbellino and the essence of the Bambuco.

Colombia: Images For Life

Metropolis

Excerpt from the iconic film directed by Fritz Lang, for which I had the honor of composing original music as part of a project developed in collaboration with the Colombian Association of Film Music Composers (MUCINE) in 2018, during the Bogotá International Film Festival (BIFF).

The striking visual language of German Expressionism finds a natural dialogue with musical Impressionism, an artistic movement that inspired the compositional style of this work, seeking to enhance the film’s atmosphere, emotional depth, and cinematic character.

Blue Roots

The music of Raíces Azules, winner of the 2024 Macondo Award for Best Original Score, was conceived drawing inspiration from 20th-century Russian music, particularly the evocative character and sensitivity of the waltzes composed during that period.

The score accompanies Jamie’s intimate journey and her rediscovery of her roots on Providencia Island, in northern Colombia — a place that shaped her childhood and to which she returns in search of memory, identity, and personal reconciliation. Through its musical language, the work seeks to reflect the nostalgia, beauty, and emotional depth of a return to what ultimately gives her meaning and happiness.

Ermitaño

Ermitaño is a story set in the Colombian Andean region, whose music is deeply inspired by the rural and folk traditions of this territory. Nominated for the Macondo Award in 2023, the score brings together traditional Colombian instruments such as the tiple, guitar, and bandola in dialogue with the symphony orchestra and a rich palette of percussive sonorities, creating an intimate soundscape profoundly rooted in the region’s cultural identity.

In this excerpt, the music becomes an elegy dedicated to Horacio’s parents. Through the sensitivity of the violin and cello, the character recalls their memory and pays tribute to them with a sense of nostalgia, affection, and remembrance.

The Legend of Zelda - Wind Waker Fan Art

A short film created and directed by Vitor Maccari, inspired by the universe and narrative of The Legend of Zelda, the iconic franchise created by Nintendo.

The music for this work draws inspiration from the original game’s musical essence while also incorporating the composer’s own personal elements to create a distinctive identity. The result is a score designed to accompany the spirit of adventure, fantasy, and epic storytelling that defines this brief yet meaningful audiovisual project.
