Scoring Blue Roots

Recording sessions for the Feature film "Blue Roots" at Pocket Studios with amazing performers.

Te concept of the music is developed from a ballet dancer (the main character) who feels the need to get back to her roots, and for that, she comes back to Providencia, an island located in the north shore in Colombia.

The music takes references from the classical Russian Waltz, by composers like Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky and many other composers from this style, telling and expressing this interaction with the sea, that brings her back happiness and joy when she recovers herself.

The piano was used for melancholic moments, when this character was lost in her story and she didn´t realize what´s up coming to her. Some references for these pieces was the chopin preludes and nocturnes, with some large notes and frases to be empathic with the character feelings
