A great honor to create the score for this significant documentary, directed by Sorani Marín and produced by Gerylee Polanco.
The music accompanies the journey undertaken by these educators and their struggle for better conditions in Colombian education during the 60´s when there was no national teaching statute, and many teachers in the country carried out their work under precarious conditions.
The score, using typical instruments from the Colombian Andean region, intertwines its sound and ambiance with the charango and percussion from the northern coast of Colombia, accompanying the journey on foot from Santa Marta to Bogotá. It narrates each place and the stories that unfolds from these points.
For the creation of this score, it was essential to highlight and exalt the courage of these teachers and to tell their story with the utmost respect and reverence for such a distinguished social role as being an educator.
