The Music of Voces y Saberes

Voces y Saberes is a documentary series created by my friends at Imaginarios Media House for Telecafé, the regional television network representing Colombia’s Andean and coffee-growing regions. It is a deeply human production that celebrates the cultural richness, traditions, and knowledge of those who have devoted their lives to preserving the crafts and wisdom of our land.

Throughout the series, artisans, coffee growers, guardians of tradition, and professionals from diverse fields share their stories through their daily work, recounting the journey that led them to become masters of their respective crafts. Each testimony reveals not only their achievements and moments of success, but also the challenges and lessons that have shaped their personal and professional growth.

The original score of the series is profoundly inspired by the musical traditions of Colombia’s Andean and coffee-growing regions. Traditional rhythms such as the pasillo, guabina, and bambuco serve as the foundation upon which the musical narrative of the score is built, accompanying each story with the simplicity, warmth, and emotional depth that lie at the heart of Colombian Andean music.
